Forwarding Calls

Cisco VoIP desk phones have 2 different ways to forward calls.  ITS Network and Communications recommends using the Single Number Reach tool, as it is more professional.  Click on the following links for more detailed information on both options, or to go to a detailed article that compares the two.

Remote Calling via Computer

Cisco Jabber Soft phone (Jabber) is a feature of Cisco Unified Communications that allows you to remotely use your computer to send and receive ISU phone calls for a Cisco VoIP desktop phone.  Click on the following link for more detailed information on this option.

Voice mail

CISCO Unity Voice mail is voice storage and messaging system. It will answer calls, deliver personal greetings, and take messages for you. Each voice mailbox is unique, private, and associated with an extension number.

Traditional Voice mail

Traditional voice mail is configured for the first time by Network and Communications. If you do not have voice mail or need assistance accessing or setting up your voice mail, please contact our IT Service Desk at 208-282-4357 or by email at

Voice mail to Email

Voice mail sent to your email is an option with our voice mail system, but it is not automatically configured. If you are interested in receiving a copy of your voice mail sent to your email, you can request it by contacting our IT Service Desk, at 208-282-4357 or by email at

Email Integration sends email notifications to your campus email address each time a new voice mail message is left on your phone. Email Integration does not delete the messages from your voice mail inbox or turn off the new voice mail indicator light on your desk phone.
