Searching the ISU Class Schedule (Students)

Issue / Question
Instructions on how to search the ISU class schedule by either conducting a basic search or an advanced search.

Resolution
Sign into BengalWeb
  1. Go to Bengal Web
  2. Type your ISU Username
  3. Type your Password
  4. Click SUBMIT
  5. Approve login using DUO mobile app or hardware token
Basic Search
  1. Select Academic Tools (Left)
  2. Then go to the Registration Tools (right)
  3. Click Registration Landing Page
  4. Click Browse Course Catalog, Browse Classes, or Register for Classes
    • Note: Browse Course Catalog gives search results with sections condensed under each course heading. Browse Classes and Register for Classes shows all sections of courses, listed individually, for a chosen semester. A Register for Classes search gives you the option to register at the same time.
  5. Select a Term
  6. Click Continue
  7. Use the fields to narrow search results by Subject, Course Number, or Keyword. You can use any combination of these fields or even none. If you input nothing into a field, it will return the entire catalog matching the other criteria.
  8. Click Search
Advanced Search
You can also select the Advanced Search button from the Look Up Classes page. This provides filtering options to help you search for a class to meet special needs. For example, you could pull up a list of all the classes that start during the second eight weeks or a list of which classes meet the Fine Arts goal. You can even pull a list of all classes that meet at a particular time to help you fill a gap in your schedule.  
Follow steps 1-10 of Basic Search.
  1. Click on Advanced Search
  2. Use the fields to narrow search results. You can use any combination of these fields or even none. If you input nothing into a field, it will return the entire catalog matching the other criteria.
  3. Click Search
Note: The search results columns can be toggled on and off by clicking the gear icon (right) and selecting or deselecting items in the list.
