This article provides instructions on how to create, edit, and use the Plan Ahead feature on the Registration Landing Page at Idaho State University (ISU).

Sign in to MyISU and Open Plan Ahead

Before You Begin

  1. Sign in to MyISU (external link) using your ISU username and password.
  2. Approve your login using Duo Mobile or a hardware token.

Open Plan Ahead

  1. Select Academics.
  2. Select Registration Landing Page.
  3. Select Plan Ahead.
  4. Choose a term, then select Continue.

Create a New Plan

  1. Select Create a New Plan. Use the search fields (Subject, Course Number, or Keyword) to find courses.
    • Note: Leaving fields blank will return more results.
  2. Select Search.
  3. To add courses:
    • Select Add Course, or
    • Select View Sections, then Add for a specific section
  4. (Optional) Use the Panels menu to view your schedule and course summary.
  5. Select Save Plan.
  6. Enter a plan name, then select Save.

Notes:

  • You can add notes to a course or the entire plan.
  • Your advisor can view your plan and notes but cannot make changes.

Edit an Existing Plan

  1. Open Plan Ahead (follow steps above).
  2. Select your existing plan.
  3. Select Edit.

To Update Your Plan

  • Add courses by following the steps in Create a New Plan.
  • Remove courses by selecting Delete next to the course.
  • Select Save Plan when finished.

Register for Planned Classes

  1. Open Plan Ahead (follow steps above).
  2. Select your plan.
  3. Select Register for Classes.
    • If your plan includes sections, select Add or Add All.
    • If not, select View Sections, choose a section, then select Add.
    • Choose a term, then select Continue.
    • Select the Plans tab.
  4. Select Submit to complete registration.
