Adding Accommodations to a Quiz in ISU Canvas for Faculty

1. From within your course, in Course Navigation, click on the Quizzes link. Note: You can also access quizzes from the Assignments page.
2. To add student accommodations, locate any existing New Quiz. Then click the Options icon (3 dots) and click the Build link.
3. In New Quizzes, click the Moderate tab.
4. Click the student name link of the student you want to apply accommodations. Alternatively, you can use the Search field to find a specific student.
5. In the Additional Attempts menu, select the number of additional attempts you wish to allow a student.
6. In the Time adjustments menu, select the time adjustment option you want to give the student. You can give additional time, remove the time limit, or add time using a time limit multiplier.
   1. To add additional time, select the Give additional time option in the time adjustments menu. Then use the Hours and Minutes fields to add additional time.
   2. To remove the time limit, select the Remove time limit (unlimited) option in the time adjustment menu.
   3. To add a time multiplier, select the Time limit multiplier option in the time adjustments menu. Then enter the multiplier in the Time limit multiplier field.
7. To moderate a student's quiz and reduce answer choices, click on the student's name in the moderation list. Click the Reduced Answer Choices toggle. This removes one incorrect answer from all multiple-choice questions with four or more options. To apply the changes, click the Save button. You can also click the Edit icon next to the student's name and then click the Reduced Answer Choices toggle on. To apply the changes, click the Apply button.
8. Click the Save button to save all setting changes. Once you have saved the settings, you will be able to view the student's accommodations in the Accommodations column. This column displays the cumulative effect of accommodations and moderating time settings.

Important Note: Accommodations added to New Quizzes apply to all quizzes in a course for a student and only one accommodation can be set per student. However, the instructor will not see the quiz accommodations until the student accesses the quizzes.
