Digital Voice Recorder

Summary

Guide on how to use DS issued digital voice recorder.

Body

The Recorder

To turn on the power, there is a slide button on the top of the right side of the recorder. There are inputs on the left side of the recorder to connect headphones or a mic. On the back, there is a slide to push out or pull in the USB. There is also a kickstand on the back so you can have it propped up on a desk.

Inputting the Date

When you first boot up the recorder it may ask for the date and time. Scroll to the different options (year, month, day, time) using the left and right buttons on the center control circle. When you select an option, you can change it by using the up and down buttons. When the date and time is correct, press the "Ok" button in the center.  

Home Screen

The home screen has three options: Music, Recorder, and Podcast.

Recorder

When you click the "recorder" option, some folders will pop up where you can organize your recordings. Choose the folder you want your recording to be in and press the "rec" button. Press the "stop" button to stop recording. To go back to the files, press the "folder/index" button. To go back to the menu, press the back/left button. You can erase files by hitting the "erase" button.

Music and Podcast

You can upload your own music or podcast files onto the recorder to listen to later. This is done by plugging the USB into a computer and uploading the files to the recorder by placing the files into the corresponding file folders.

Menu

By clicking the "menu" button, you can access many different sub-menus. (File Menu, Rec (Recorder) Menu, Play Menu, LCD/Sound Menu, Device Menu). To exit the menu, click on the menu button again (this will bring you to the home screen). One key thing that you may want to toggle is the beeping sound. You can turn this on or off in the "LCD/Sound" sub-menu.

Calendar

You can access the calendar by clicking the "calendar" button. There, you can select a date and view the files recorded on that date. If the date is input incorrectly, you can edit it by going to the menu, then scrolling down to the device sub menu, and selecting the "time and date" option. To exit the calendar, press the calendar button again.
