Logging In and Out of CMP Mac Lab Computers

This article provides instructions on how to Sign in and out of computers in CMP Mac labs: Frazier Hall 319 and Liberal Arts 135 at Idaho State University (ISU).

1. Locate the Mac mini desktop on the instructor podium.
2. Press the Power button to turn on the Mac, located on the back, right-hand corner of the desktop (next to the power plug).

Sign in to the Mac 

1. On the log-in screen, in the lower center of the screen, click on the CMP Student account.
   • If another account is shown, hover the cursor over that account picture until more accounts are shown, then click on the CMP Student account.
   • If more accounts do not show up:
     1. Click into the password field for the account that does show.
     2. Simultaneously press both the Option and Enter keys on the keyboard.
     3. In the 'Name' field, enter 'CMP Student'.
     4. Proceed to the next step.
2. Enter the password for the CMP Student account, which your instructor should share with you.

1. If any web browsers were used to sign in to ISU resources, be sure to log out of each session.
2. To log out of the CMP Student account:
   1. Click on the Apple icon in the top-left corner of the screen to open the Apple Menu.
   2. Click Log Out CMP Student from the bottom of the Apple Menu.
   3. Alternatively, simultaneously press the shift, command, and Q keys on the keyboard.
