Moodle ISU: Request a Temporary Course for Faculty

Summary

A Temporary (TEMP) course is necessary so faculty can make needed changes to a course in Moodle before moving the course to Canvas.

Body

Description

A Temporary (TEMP) Moodle ISU course can be requested by faculty to use as a staging area for making changes and updating course content in preparation for importing to ISU Canvas. This course type will never have students enrolled. A TEMP course allows you to make necessary updates without affecting actual student data or being restricted by Moodle's guardrails (such as Moodle preventing you from making changes to quizzes that have been taken by students).

Instructions

  1. Request a Moodle ISU TEMP course using the Moodle: Special Course Request Form.
  2. An email will be sent to you when the course is created.
  3. Import the course content from an actual course into the TEMP course.
    1. See the article Importing Content into a New Moodle ISU Course for instructions.
