Description
This article provides instructions on how current students, faculty, and staff can access Microsoft 365 Online at Idaho State University (ISU).
IMPORTANT NoteS:
- Current students, faculty, and staff have access to Microsoft 365 using their ISU credentials.
- Alumni, retirees, and individuals without a current ISU affiliation will lose access to Microsoft 365 when leaving the university.
- If you need temporary access to Microsoft 365 and do not have an ISU affiliation, contact the IT Service Desk.
- After leaving ISU, you will need a personal Microsoft account to continue using Microsoft 365 applications.
- Microsoft 365 access is provided under an agreement between Microsoft and ISU and may change at any time.

Log Into Microsoft 365
- Go to the Microsoft 365 sign-in page: office.com.
- Select Sign in.
- Enter your primary ISU email address (do not use an email alias).
- Notes: If you previously had an account under your alias, this account will be separate and uses its own password.
- Select Next.
- Enter the same password as you use to login to MyISU.
- Select Sign in.
Note: Microsoft will require Multi-Factor Authentication to be used for signing in after every 12 hours.
First-time Sign-In Setup
If this is your first time signing in:

You will be prompted to set up Duo Security.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete verification.

Approve the sign-in using Duo Security.
Office Availability on ISU Computers
- Microsoft 365 is installed on most ISU-owned computers.
- If Microsoft 365 is not installed on your ISU-owned computer, contact the IT Service Desk for assistance.
- Microsoft 365 is available in all ISU computer labs.
Microsoft 365 Applications
Microsoft 365 includes access to the following applications:

Word: Create and edit documents.

Excel: Create spreadsheets and analyze data.

OneNote: Take and organize digital notes.

Outlook: Manage email, calendars, and contacts.

Teams: Chat meet, call, and collaborate with others.
