Zoom: In-Meeting Chat

Description

The in-meeting chat allows you to send chat messages to other users within a meeting. You can send a private message to an individual user, or you can send a message to an entire group. As the host, you can choose who the participants can chat with or disable chat entirely.

This Guide Will Help You to:

  • Automatically save your chat transcript to the cloud when you cloud record:

  • Access the chat transcript on the cloud

  • Manually save your chat transcript locally to your computer

 Automatically save your chat transcript to the cloud when you cloud record:

To automatically save your chat transcript to the cloud when you cloud record:

  1. Sign in to Zoom.us and click Settings.

  2. Click the Recording tab.

  3. Under cloud recording, check the option for Save chat messages from the meeting / webinar.

Access the chat transcript on the cloud. (Note: hosts will have to wait after the meeting, when the recording is done processing).

  1. Sign in to the Zoom.us and click Recordings.

  2. Click the meeting topic. This will show all files of the meeting. Hosts can download, share or delete the TXT file called Chat.

Manually save your chat transcript locally to your computer:

  1. During the meeting, click Chat; this will expand the chat panel. 

  2. At the bottom of the chat window, click “...”, then select “Save” chat. 

 

Access the chat transcript locally on your computer:

  1. The default location is your Documents folder / Zoom folder / Sub folder named with the following Date, Time, Topic, Meeting ID.
