Online Idaho enables students to take fully online courses at other Idaho colleges and universities while remaining enrolled here at ISU. Online Idaho is a statewide initiative created in cooperation with other institutions. The goal is to make it easy for students to find, register for, and transfer the credits earned back to ISU. This will provide them with greater flexibility as they navigate their way to graduation. For example, a student might be able to take a class online at another institution that isn’t offered at ISU this semester.
Searching and registering for classes through Online Idaho is simple. However, it is important that students work with an advisor and ISU’s Financial Aid office to understand the impacts on their financial aid and/or scholarships if they sign up for a course through Online Idaho. We are proud to be part of this effort to offer additional learning opportunities to ISU students.
Note: ISU has added GEM (general education) courses with prerequisites to the courses available for registration. The prerequisite approval process is manual. When a student tries to register for a class with prereqs, their registration is held, and an email notification is sent to the Registrar's Office for approval. The Registrar's Office will review the student's academic record in Online Idaho to verify the student has met the prereqs, and will then approve the registration if the prereqs have been met. The student's registration is then sent to Banner with the override prerequisite flag checked. Students will receive an email notification when the prereq is approved or denied.
