Add, Drop, or Waitlist Classes in MyISU

Description

This article provides instructions on how to access and use the registration system within the MyISU portal Idaho State University (ISU). The registration system allows students to search for classes, add or drop courses, join waitlists, and manage their schedule for a selected term.

Before you Begin

  1. Log in to MyISU with your ISU Username and Password.
  2. Select the Academics category.
  3. Select the Registration Landing Page card.
  4. Select Register for Classes.
  5. Choose a term and select Continue.
    • Note: Use the fields to narrow search results by Subject, Course Number, or Keyword. You can use any combination of these fields or even none. If you input nothing into a field, it will return the entire catalog matching the other criteria.

 

Add by Class List

  1. Find your desired course, and select Add.
    • Note: You will see two panels on the screen. One summarizes what classes you've added, and one defaults to a scheduled sample week of courses.
  2. Select on Schedule Details to see details of the course.
  3. You can either select Submit or Search Again and repeat steps 11-14 to add multiple courses at once.
    • Note: If you add a class you don't want to register for before selecting submit, select Remove from the drop-down menu next to that class instead of **Web Registered**.

Add by Course Registration Number (CRN)

  1. Find your desired course, and select Add.
    • Note: You will see two panels on the screen. One summarizes what classes you've added, and one defaults to a scheduled sample week of courses.
  2. Select on Schedule Details to see details of the course.
  3. You can either select Submit or Search Again and repeat steps 11-14 to add multiple courses at once.
    • Note: If you add a class you don't want to register for before selecting submit, select Remove from the drop-down menu next to that class instead of **Web Registered**.
  4. Select Enter CRNs.
  5. Type the CRN.
    • Note: You can either select Add to Summary to add to the Summary (See step 13 of Add by Class List) or select +Add Another CRN to add multiple CRNs before selecting Add to Summary.
  6. Select Submit.

Add by Plan

  1. Find your desired course, and select Add.
    • Note: You will see two panels on the screen. One summarizes what classes you've added, and one defaults to a scheduled sample week of courses.
  2. Select on Schedule Details to see details of the course.
  3. You can either select Submit or Search Again and repeat steps 11-14 to add multiple courses at once.
    • Note: If you add a class you don't want to register for before selecting submit, select Remove from the drop-down menu next to that class instead of **Web Registered**.
  4. Select Plans.
    • Note: If you added a specific section to your plan, select Add or Add All to add all sections in your plan. Otherwise, select View Sections.
  5. Select Add after selecting a section.
  6. Select Submit to register for the courses or select​​​​​​​ Return to Plan and repeat steps 12-14.

Add to Waitlist

  1. Select the Academics category.
  2. Scroll and select the Registration Landing Page card.
  3. Select​​​​​​​ Register for Classes.
  4. Select a Term.
  5. Select​​​​​​​ Continue.
    • Note: Use the fields to narrow search results by Subject, Course Number, or Keyword. You can use any combination of these fields or even none. If you input nothing into a field, it will return the entire catalog matching the other criteria.
  6. Select​​​​​​​ Search.
  7. Find your desired course, and select​​​​​​​ Add.
    • Note: You will see two panels on the screen. One summarizes what classes you've added, and one defaults to a scheduled sample week of courses.
  8. Select on Schedule Details to see details of the course.
  9. You can either select​​​​​​​ Submit or Search Again and repeat steps 11-14 to add multiple courses at once.
    • Note: If you add a class you don't want to register for before selecting submit, select Remove from the drop-down menu next to that class instead of **Web Registered**
  10. Select **Add to Waitlist** from the drop-down menu next to that class instead of **Web Registered**.
  11. Select​​​​​​​ Submit
Notes: 
  • If you are on the waitlist for a different section of a class you are already registered for, you must drop the other section before you can add the new section.
  • Once a spot becomes available, you will be sent an email to your ISU email address, and you will have 24 hours to add the class before you are removed from the waitlist.

Drop Courses

  1. Select the Academics category.
  2. Scroll and select the Registration Landing Page card.
  3. Select​​​​​​​ Register for Classes.
  4. Select a Term.
  5. Select Continue.
    • Note: Use the fields to narrow search results by Subject, Course Number, or Keyword. You can use any combination of these fields or even none. If you input nothing into a field, it will return the entire catalog matching the other criteria.
  6. Select​​​​​​​ Search.
  7. Find your desired course, and select​​​​​​​ Add.
    • Note: You will see two panels on the screen. One summarizes what classes you've added, and one defaults to a scheduled sample week of courses.
  8. Select on Schedule Details to see details of the course.
  9. You can either select​​​​​​​ Submit or Search Again and repeat steps 11-14 to add multiple courses at once.
    • Note: If you add a class you don't want to register for before selecting submit, select Remove from the drop-down menu next to that class instead of **Web Registered**.
  10. Select from the drop-down of a course you've registered for, from any page where you see the Summary**Web Drop**.
    • Note: You may drop multiple courses at once.
  11. Select​​​​​​​ Submit.
    • Note: You will still faintly see the courses until you reload the page or perform other actions.
Note: After you have finished registering, review your schedule to ensure you are registered for the correct classes.​​​​​​​

Notes:

  • Course instructors have the authority to drop registered students from courses during the first week of class for non-attendance.  
  • An instructor may also assign a student an "X" (failing grade for non-attendance) grade as a final grade if a student has not attended/participated in class or does not meet the attendance policy established in the course syllabus.
