AIM Walkthrough
If you have any questions about the walkthrough or need any additional information/help please contact your advisor or email either etext@isu.edu or disabilityservices@isu.edu
If you are reading this walkthrough in Word and want to jump ahead to a specific section, go to "View" in the menu at the top of the screen, and click the "Navigation Pane" checkbox. This will pull up a menu on the lefthand side of the screen that will allow you to navigate the walkthrough quickly by clicking on the section that you want to view.
Accessing AIM

The portal to access your profile and tech accommodations is located on the lefthand side of the ISU disability services website (located here), beneath the side menu. To sign in to the website, you log in with your regular ISU email and password.
AIM Dashboard Overview

When you first get logged into AIM you will first be met by your dashboard. This dashboard lists the classes that you have accommodation requests for. To view the accommodation requests for those classes, click on the class you wish to view. When there, you can edit your accommodation requests and view your request status.

Next to your accomodation requests on the dashboard, you can view your advisor's information and send them and email.

On the lefthand side of AIM there is a menu where you can access your accommodations, files, and information.

This "accommodations" section of the side menu will look different depending on what accommodations you have. In the example menu above, the accommodations "alternative testing, communication access, flex plan, and notetaking services" are listed. This differs from the example below, which only has the accomodation "alternative formats". You will not have a menu option for any accomodations that you do not have.

Menu Items (In the Order Listed on the Lefthand Side Menu)
My Dashboard
Overview
Clicking the "Overview" button will bring you back to the dashboard screen that first opens when you log on.
Announcements
The "Announcements" button brings you to a page of any announcements or updates that you have been sent.
Equipment
The "Equipment" page will list any equipment that you have borrowed from ISU Disability Services. For example, things like C-Pens, Livescribe Pens, or any other technology that you have borrowed would be listed as equipment.
Login and Security
The "Login and Security" page will show your username as will as when your last attempt to log in was.
My Appointments
On the "My Appointments" page, you will be shown any appointments that you have scheduled. It will list the date and time of the appointment as well as who it is with. It will also tell you what type of appointment it is (in person, on zoom, over the phone, or through email). You can also cancel your appointment from this page. Appointments can be made for many reasons, including reviewing documentation, equipment training, or accessible tech installations and training.

My Documents
"My Documents" lists any documents that you have on file.
My Files
"My Files" lists any files that you have in AIM.
My Eligibility
The Eligibility page shows all of the accommodations that you are eligible for. The accommodations listed have dropdown menus that explain what the accommodation is. You can open or close the dropdown menus using the arrow icon next to the accommodation name.

My E-Form Agreements
In the "my E-Form Agreements" page you can view all of the E-form agreements that you have signed, as well as see the date that you signed them.
My Mailbox (Sent Emails)
On the "Mailbox" page you can view any emails that have been sent to you through AIM. This is a good way to view all emails just regarding disability services instead of needing to search through your regular email account.
Accommodations
This is just an overview of common accommodations, not every single accommodation. If you have an accommodation that is not listed on this walkthrough and have any questions please either contact your advisor or email etext@isu.edu or disabilityservices@isu.edu.
List Requests
The "List Requests" page just shows you all of the accommodations that you have for each of your classes.
Alternative Testing
When you go to the "Alternative Testing" page, you can see any exams, quizzes, or finals that you have scheduled to take through Disability Services. You can view the location, date, and time of your exam on this page. This is also the page where you can schedule an exam to be taken through Disability Services. When you request an exam, it will be listed as "pending" in the status section of the exam until it has been approved.

Alternative Formats
The "Alternative Formats" accommodation requires that a receipt of any eText book you need must be either uploaded onto AIM through the "Alternative Formats" page or by emailing the receipt/order confirmation to etext@isu.edu. Even if you have purchased books through the ISU book bundle, a screenshot of your order confirmation must be sent to us. If you upload the receipt yourself instead of emailing it, make sure that you select the correct course(s) that the receipt(s) you are uploading apply to. Multiple courses can be chosen for one receipt if you have many books listed on the receipt/order confirmation. You do not need to upload the receipts yourself if you are having issues, emailing them to etext@isu.edu works great!

Communication Access
In the "Communication Access" page you can request the use of ASL interpreters and set up meeting times with them by utilizing the "Custom Requests" tab at the top of the "Communication Access" page.

Flex Plan
The "Flex Plan" page is where you can view the flex plans for each of your courses. A flex plan is an accommodation that offers you flexibility in deadlines for various things like attendance, assignments, or tests. Whatever flexibility your accommodation covers will be listed here in the "Accommodation Requested" section of each of your courses.

Notetaking Services
In the "Notetaking Services" section you can view the status of the notetakers assigned to each of your courses. If you do not need notes for a certain course, it will say "Notes Required: No" in the status section of that course. Otherwise, if you have a notetaker for that course, the status should say "Notetaker Assigned".

To access your notes, go to the "List All Notes" tab at the top of the "Notetaking Services" page. Here you can access the notes that your notetaker has uploaded.
