Bookmark Backups

Description

This article tells how to back up your bookmarks in Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Opera, and Safari on Mac.

Export
1. Open Google Chrome
2. Click three dots (top right corner)
3. Hover over Bookmarks
4. Select Bookmark Manager
5. Click three dots (top right corner of the blue bar)
6. Select Export bookmarks
7. Select Location
8. Select Save
Import
1. Open Google Chrome
2. Select three dots (top right corner)
3. Hover over Bookmarks
4. Select Bookmark Manager
5. Select three dots (top right corner of the blue bar)
6. Select Import bookmarks
7. Locate Backup File
8. Select Backup file

Export
1. Open Firefox
2. Click the three lines (top right)
3. Click Bookmarks
4. Click Manage bookmarks or CTRL+Shift+O
5. Click Import and Backup
6. Click Backup...
7. Name and choose an appropriate location to save
8. Click Save
Import
1. Open Firefox
2. Click the three lines (top right)
3. Click Bookmarks
4. Click Manage bookmarks or CTRL+Shift+O
5. Click Import and Backup
6. Click Restore,
  - You will be able to choose from a list of existing backups if there are any recent or if they are of the desired time period
7. Click Choose file...
8. Highlight the appropriate JSON file from the save location
9. Click Open

Export
1. Open Edge
2. Click the three dots (top right corner)
3. Select Favorites
4. Click the three lines (top right corner)
5. Select Export Favorites
6. Name the file and choose an appropriate location to save it
7. Click Save
Import
1. Open Edge
2. Click the three dots (top right corner)
3. Select Favorites
4. Click the three lines (top right corner)
5. Select
6. Click the three lines (top right corner)
7. Select Import Favorites
8. Click Choose what to import
9. In the drop-down menu under Import From, select Favorites or Bookmarks HTML File
10. Click Choose File
11. Find your saved Bookmarks HTML file and open it

1. Open Opera
2. Visit opera://bookmarks
3. Using the drop-down menu (bottom left), export your bookmarks
Import
1. Open Opera
2. Visit opera://bookmarks
3. Using the drop-down menu (bottom left), import your bookmarks

Export
1. Open Safari
2. Select File from the menu bar
3. Click Export Bookmarks
4. Choose a location to save the file
5. Click Save
Import
1. Open Safari
2. Select File from the menu bar
3. Select Import Form
4. Find your saved Bookmarks HTML file and open it
5. Click Import
