Disable Private Address on DeviceNet for iOS Devices

Description

This article provides instructions on how to turn off the MAC randomization feature on IOS devices at Idaho State University (ISU).

  • Note: This feature is enabled by default but should be disabled for use with DeviceNet. 

Guide Navigation

iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Wi-Fi.
  3. Find DeviceNet in the network list.
  4. Select the Info icon next to DeviceNet.
  5. Locate Private Address.
  6. Toggle Private Address to Off.

Note: Your device will use its actual MAC address when connecting to DeviceNet.

Apple Watch

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Wi-Fi.
  3. Select DeviceNet.
  4. Find Private Address.
  5. Make sure the toggle is set to Off.
