How to Access Your ISU Email

Description

This article provides instructions on how to access your ISU email through web browsers, iOS and Android devices at Idaho State University (ISU).
  • Note:  All ISU students and employees are assigned an ISU email address, username@isu.edu. Your ISU email will be the primary method of communication. Please check it regularly.

Accessing your Email on a Web Browser

  1. Navigate to your ISU gmail (external link).
  2. Enter your ISU Email (username@isu.edu), then click Next.
  3. Enter your password, then select Next again.
    • Note: For security purposes, you may be prompted to complete Google’s two-step verification to confirm your identity during sign-in.

 Mobile Device Note: Download any Google apps you plan to use with your ISU account before proceeding. (such as Gmail, Google Drive, or YouTube).

Accessing Email on iOS (Apple) devices 

  1. Open Settings. Tap Mail, then Accounts.
  2. Select Add Account.
  3. Select Google as your email provider.
  4. Enter your ISU email (Gmail) address, then tap Next.
    • Example: (username@isu.edu),
  5. Enter your password, then tap Next.
    • Note: You’ll be prompted to choose which Google apps to sync. Turn off any items you don’t want, then tap Save in the top-right corner.

Accessing Email on Android devices (Samsung, Google Pixel, etc.)

  1. Open the App Drawer (swipe up or tap the apps icon).
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Select Accounts and backup (or Accounts, depending on your device).
  4. Tap Manage accounts, then Add account. Select Google.
    • Note: If prompted, verify your identity (password, fingerprint, or pattern).
  5. Enter your ISU email (Gmail) address (username@isu.edu), then tap Next.
  6. Enter your password, then tap Next. Review and tap Agree on the Terms of Service screen.
  7. Tap Finish.

Note: If you experience any issues signing in, make sure your password is correct and that you complete any required two-step verification prompts.
