Reset an Unresponsive Wall Mounted SMART Board

Description

This article provides instructions on how to reset a wall mounted SMART Board that is unresponsive in select classrooms at Idaho State University (ISU).

Reset the SMART Board Using the Remote

If the SMART Board responds to the remote:

  1. On the SMART Board remote, press and hold the Power button for approximately 4 seconds to turn off the SMART board completely.
  2. Press the Power button again to turn the SMART board back on.
  3. Test the SMART Board to confirm that it is responding.

Reset the SMART Board Using the Power Switch

If the SMART Board does not respond to the remote, use the power switch located underneath the display.

  1. Locate the power switch underneath the SMART Board near the speaker.
  2. Move the power switch to the Off position.
  3. Wait a few seconds.
  4. Move the power switch to the On position.
  5. Test the SMART Board to confirm that it is responding.

Note: Use the power switch only if the SMART Board does not respond to the remote.
