Book Bundle Opt Out

This article provides instructions on how to Opt out of the ISU Book Bundle and purchase your required materials at Idaho State University (ISU).

 Opt Out of the ISU Book Bundle

The ISU Book Bundle could potentially save you money but you will need to determine the cost of the Book Bundle ($25/credit hour) versus the cost of just your required materials to see which offers a better savings. You can also visit the ISU Book Bundle FAQ for more information on the Book Bundle. If you determine buying your required materials without the Book Bundle is a better deal then follow the below steps to Opt Out of the Book Bundle.
  1. Go to ISU Book Bundle.
  2. Find OPT OUT to be redirected to the Opt Out link.
  3. Select the I WANT TO OPT OUT button.
  4. A new window will appear, select OPT OUT.

 Buy Required Books and Materials 

After Opting Out of the ISU Book Bundle you can then buy your required materials with the following instructions. 

  1. Log in to MyISU.
  2. Select the Academic Tab.
  3. Navigate to the BUY BOOKS & Find Course Materials card and then select it.
  4. Select the current Term from the drop-down then Submit.
  5. Choose the format you want (such as print or digital, if available).
  6. Select Add to Cart.
    • If you see the error message stating "These course materials are included as part of your ISU Book Bundle program. Please visit the homepage to learn more." Ignore the following steps and proceed to Opt Out by Class.
  7. Select the Cart icon in the upper-right corner.
  8. Select Proceed to Checkout.
  9. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your purchase.

 Opt Out by Class

If you have BOTH verified you Opted Out of the ISU Book Bundle AND get the following Error message when trying to purchase your books then follow the below instructions.

Warning: If you are still Opted Into the Book Bundle you will be see the following message. Only follow the below steps after verifying you have Opted Out of the Book Bundle to ensure you aren't charged twice.

  1. Log in to MyISU.
  2. Select the Academic Tab.
  3. Navigate to the BUY BOOKS & Find Course Materials card and then select it.
  4. Select the current Term from the dropdown then Submit.
  5. In the Top Menu Bar open the drop down menu for COURSE MATERIALS $ TEXTBOOKS.
  6. Select Find Course Materials.
  7. Under Term open the drop down menu and select the current semester + OPT PUT.
    • Example 1: FALL 2026 OPT OUT
    • Example 2: SPRING 2027 OPT OUT
  8. Fill in the Department, Course #, and Section for your each of your classes.
  9. Once done select RETRIEVE MATERIALS.
  10. Select Add to Cart.
  11. Select the Cart icon in the upper-right corner.
  12. Select Proceed to Checkout.
  13. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your purchase.
