This article explains how to use the voicemail features on ISU’s Cisco VoIP phone system. It covers setting up voicemail, listening to messages, recording greetings, and managing voicemail options. Each voicemail account has a storage limit of 14 megabytes.

1. Configuring Cisco Unity Voicemail
-
Press the Message button (recorder icon above the cog and book buttons).
-
Enter your PIN (password). Default PIN is your 4-digit extension.

Follow the system prompts to:
-
Record your name
-
Set a new PIN (password)
-
Record a greeting
-
Hang up when finished.
2. Voicemail User Guide (Remote Access)
-
Dial 208-282-6990.
-
Press * at the beginning of the greeting.
-
Enter your ID (4-digit extension).
-
Press #.
-
Enter your PIN (password).
-
Press # to log in.
3. Changing Your PIN (Password)
-
Press the Message button and log in.
-
Press 4 > 3 > 1.
-
Enter your new PIN, press #.
-
Re-enter your new PIN, press # to confirm.
4. Changing Your Recorded Name
-
Press the Message button and log in.
-
Press 4 > 3 > 2.
-
At the tone, record your name.
-
Press # to end the recording or * to keep the current recording.
-
Press the Message button and log in.
-
Press 4 > 1 > 1.
-
After Cisco Unity plays your current greeting:

Press 1 to re-record
-
Press 3 to record a different greeting
-
Select the greeting and record it.
6. Enabling or Disabling an Alternate Greeting
Note: Alternate greetings override all other greetings.
- Press the Message button and log in.

Press 4 > 1 > 1.
-
After Cisco Unity plays the current greeting, press 2 to enable or disable your alternate greeting.
