Zoom: Edit Cloud Recordings

Description

Recordings stored on the Zoom Cloud can be modified. Change the name, trim the playback of the recording, or remediate the transcript.  

This Guide Will Help You to:

  • Locate your Zoom Recording
  • Change meeting/topic name
  • Change recording name
  • Trim recording
  • Remediate transcript
  • Seek further assistance

Locate your Zoom Recording

  1. Go to Zoom.us and log into your account

  2. In the menu, select Recordings

Change meeting topic name

The topic name will also be the same name used in the meeting

  1. From the Recordings page, select the desired meeting topic.

  2. On the new page, find the meeting topic, and click the Pencil icon.

  3. Type new topic name, click Save.

Change recording name

The recording name will default to “Recording #”, depending on the number of recordings associated with the meeting.

  1. From the Recordings page, select the desired meeting topic.

  2. Find the specific recording (e.g. Recording 1), and click the pencil icon. 

  3. Type a new recording name, click save.

Trim Recording

Note: This will not affect the original recording. If you enable downloads, viewers will have access to the full-length recording and all relevant files, including audio transcripts, chat, and subtitles.

  1. From the Recordings page, select the desired meeting topic.

  2. Find the specific recording (e.g. Recording 1) click the play video icon or Share screen with Speaker view.

The video player will open in a new window.

  1. On the player’s toolbar click the scissor icon also known as Set Playback Range

  2. Adjust the start and end scrubbers to trim the beginning and/or end. (you are unable to remove any content in the middle of the recording).

  3. Click Save

Remediate Transcript

  1. From the Recordings page, select the desired meeting topic.

  2. Find the specific recording (e.g. Recording 1) click the play video icon or Share screen with Speaker view.

The video player will open in a new window.

  1. On the Audio Transcript, Hover the mouse over the desired statement.

  2. Click the Pencil icon.

  3. Update the text, and click Save or the check icon.
