How to un-sync your phone from Google Photos
Resolution

Turn Sync Off for Google Photos on iPhone or iPad.
  1. Open Google Photos from your device.
  2. Click your Account Profile Photo (top right)
  3. Select Photo Settings 
  4. Select Apple Photos
  5. Select Sync favorites 
  6. Toggle the switch to the off position 
Turn Sync off for Google Photos on Android.
  1. Open Google Photos from your device.
  2. Click on your Profile Picture
  3. Select Photo Settings
  4. Select Backup and Sync
  5. Toggle the switch to the off position
