Change Your Display Name in ISU Gmail

Description

This article provides instructions on how to edit your display name on your ISU Gmail account at Idaho State University (ISU).

Note: You can update your display name using a web browser or the Gmail app.

Edit your Display Name in a Browser

  1. Go to Gmail (external link).
  2. Select your ISU Email or enter it in the Email or phone field.
  3. Select Next.
  4. Enter your ISU Password.
  5. Select Next.
  6. Select your Google Account.
  7. Select Manage your Google Account.
  8. Select the Personal info tab.
  9. Select Name in the Personal Info section.
  10. Select Name or Nickname to edit.
  11. Enter your updated name and click Save.

Note:

Edit your Display Name in the Gmail App

  1. Open your Gmail app.
  2. Select your Google Account.
  3. Select your ISU Email. 
    • Note: If needed, click Add another account to sign into your ISU email address.
  4. Select Manage your Google Account. 
  5. Select the Personal ​​​​​​​info tab.
  6. Select Name in the Personal info section.
  7. Select Name or Nickname.
  8. Enter your updated name and tap Save.
