Details

You can update your display name using a web browser or the Gmail app.

Editing your Display Name in a Browser

Go to Gmail
Select your ISU Email or enter it in the "email or phone" box
Select Next
Enter your ISU Password
Select Next
Select the Idaho State University logo in the (top right)
Select Manage your Google Account
Select the Personal Info tab (left side)
Select Name in the Basic Info section
Select Name or Nickname to edit
Enter your updated name and click Save.

Alternate Instructions: Change the name on your Gmail account

Note: If you want to add or edit your Email Alias, you can Request New Alias

Editing your Display Name in the Gmail App

Open the Gmail app
Select the Account Icon/Profile Picture (top right)
Select your ISU Email
- Note: If needed, click Add another account to sign in.
Select the Account Icon again (skip this step if your ISU email was already selected)
Select Manage your Google Account
Select the Personal Info tab
Select Name in the Basic Info category
Select Name or Nickname
Enter your updated name and tap Save.
