Microsoft Office is a suite of packages that can include:
There are two different versions of Microsoft Office: Office 365 and Office 20xx.  Office 365 is a subscription service, while Office 20xx is a one-time purchase software package. There are different alternatives for both Microsoft Office versions, which provide some or all the packages mentioned.

Who can use it?
Anyone can purchase and use Office 365 or Office 20xx.   However, Microsoft provides special offers of Office 365 and Office 20xx to ISU students, faculty, and staff.  Office 365 Education is the only free suite for students, faculty, and staff, containing Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.  

Where is Microsoft Office available on campus computers?
After logging in with your ISU username and password, Microsoft Office is available in all campus computer labs. Click here for lab locations and hours.

Where can I buy Office 365 or Office 20xx, regardless of the suite?
  • You can buy a copy from B&N College. For the store hours, click here.  For their online store, click here.
  • You can buy a copy from Microsoft
  • Your local computer store
  • Any online business, such as TigerDirect or Newegg

Where can I get Office 365 Education?

Note: Once Microsoft authorizes you to download Office 365, you enter an agreement with Microsoft, not ISU. Any expiration dates are in agreement with Microsoft.
