[ProjectLibre] Installation and use on MAC/Windows 10

Description

This article provides instructions on how to install ProjectLibre on Windows 11 and macOS, along with resources for learning how to use the application at Idaho State University (ISU).

Before You Begin

  • Close any open applications before beginning the installation process. 

 

Guide Navigation

Install ProjectLibre on Windows 11

  1. Visit the ProjectLibre download page (external link).
  2. Download the Windows installation file. 
  3. Open the downloaded .msi file.
  4. If Windows displays a security warning:
    • Select More info.
    • Select Run anyway.
  5. Follow the instructions in the ProjectLibre Setup Wizard to complete the installation.

Install ProjectLibre on macOS

Section Note: ProjectLibre is not signed with an Apple certificate and may be identified as a third-party application. You may need to adjust your security settings before opening the application.

  1. Visit the ProjectLibre download page (external link).
  2. Download the macOS installation file.
  3. Open System Settings.
  4. Select Privacy and Security.
  5. Under Security, confirm that applications from the App Store and identified developers are allowed.
  6. Open the downloaded ProjectLibre file from your Downloads folder.

Tip: Press Option + Command + L to quickly open the Downloads folder.

  1. Open the .dmg file.
  2. Follow the installation instructions.

Allow ProjectLibre to Open

If macOS prevents ProjectLibre from opening:
  1. Open System Settings.
  2. Select Privacy and Security.
  3. Locate the message stating that ProjectLibre was blocked to protect your Mac.
  4. Select Open Anyway.
  5. When prompted, select Open ProjectLibre.
