Creating a Time Entry

Log in to My ISU

  1. Log in to My ISU (external link) my.isu.edu with your ISU Username and Password
  2. Approve Login using the DUO mobile app or hardware token

Create a Time Entry

  1. Go to the Main Menu
  2. Open the Work Category
  3. Find the Time Entry & Employment Details Card
  4. Select Start Time Sheet.
    • Note: once you open your time sheet, the button changes to In Progress
  5. A Calendar page opens. Select the date you wish to enter the time for.
  6. In the Earn Code box, select the Earn Code you want to enter time under from the drop-down list.
  7. In the Hours box, enter the number of hours for the Earn Code
  8. Select Save.
  9. The entered hours will appear on that date in the Calendar section.

Add Additional Time for the Same Day

  1. If you wish to add hours for a different earn code for the same date, select +Add Earn Code,
  2. Repeat the steps for addition earn codes  

Save Without Submitting

  1. If you are done entering time but not ready to submit it for approval, select Exit Page.
  2. This allows you to return at a future date to enter more time or make corrections to the time entered.  

Review and Submit Your Time Card

  1. Select the Preview button
  2. Review your hours in the preview window,
  3. Add any comments you wish to include.
  4. Select the checkbox to certify that what you have entered is accurate.
  5. Select the Submit button.

Submit Time Entry for Approval

  1. Select the  Work category  
  2. Scroll to the Time Entry & Employment Details card
  3. Select Employee Dashboard
  4. Select the Enter Time button from the My Activities Section
  5. Select the In Progress button
  6. Select the Preview button
  7. Review Entered Hours
  8. Type Comments if needed
  9. Check the box labeled: "by submitting this timesheet, I certify that the hours recorded for each workday are true and accurate"
  10. Select Submit to process your time card for approval.

  • Classified Staff:
    • Regular Pay Hours Worked
    • Sick Leave
    • Vacation Leave
    • Compensatory Time Taken
    • Holiday Leave
  • Non-Classified Employees/12-month Faculty: 
    • Vacation Leave
    • Sick Leave
    • Paid Parental Leave
    • FMLA Vacation
    • FMLA Unpaid Leave
    • FMLA Sick Leave
    • ADA Leave
    • Military Leave
    • Jury Leave
  • Faculty (9, 10, &11 months):
    • Sick leave (Only)
  • Students: 
    • Student Regular Hourly Pay (Only)
