When you first open up your Trysight case you should find a charging cord and wall plug and the Trysight tablet. Beneath the tablet there should be a user guide.

Using the TrySight Tablet

  • When holding the tablet vertically the power button should be on the upper right-hand side. The volume controls are located below that. The headphone jack is on top, and the charging port is on the bottom. When the tablet has about 15 minutes of battery life left it will sound 4 quick beeps.
  • On the back of the tablet there are a couple of legs that you can use to prop the tablet up on a table.
  • When the tablet boots up you may be met with a screen with a large blue button with a magnifying glass icon on the left and large red button with a reading icon on the right. Tap the reading icon to access the reading mode.

Using Reading Mode

  • When in reading mode there should be five color coded buttons at the bottom of the screen. From left to right:
    • The leftmost green button takes a picture and saves it.
    • The yellow second button from the left is used to display the image text as text outside of the image. With this toggled on you will not see the image you took, only the text.
    • The red middle button takes you to the settings menu, where you can access both general and reader settings.
    • The blue fourth from the left button allows table detection.
    • The green button on the far right allows you to view saved images and delete them.
  • There are also two smaller buttons in both upper corners. The top right corner button allows you to turn the light off or on. The top left corner button takes you to the magnifying mode.

To begin reading:

  1. Take a picture of the text you want to read by tapping the middle of the screen.
  2. It will then process the image and begin reading through all the text in the image.
  3. If you want a specific portion read you can tap on it.
  4. Tap on the screen to pause or resume the reader.
  5. Tap on the screen with three fingers at once and it will change the contrast and color of the image. There are many options for this, and you can scroll through them by tapping with three fingers over and over.
  6. If you want to return the image to the original contrast you can tap on the middle grey button on the left of the screen. On this screen you can save the image with the bottom green button or exit out of the screen with the top red button.

Using Magnifying Mode

The Magnifying Mode can be controlled using different finger inputs:

  • Single finger tap to focus
  • Two finger pinch to zoom in or out
  • Three finger tap to change color
  • Four finger tap to toggle LED flashlight
  • Five finger tap to freeze or unfreeze the image
