Using an FM System

This article provides instructions on how to use an FM system provided by Disability Services at Idaho State University (ISU).

Identifying the FM System Components

In the case there will two FM devices.

  • A Microphone
  • Headphones

In addition, there is a bag with extra accessories.

Headphone Device for Audio Output

To turn on the device, turn the scroll wheel onto a comfortable volume level. The maximum volume level is 5. In order to hear anything from it, both devices must be turned on.

Microphone Device for Audio Input

  • To turn on the device, hold down the power button on top of the device. Note: If you click the button too quickly it will not turn on.
  • When the device is on the light at the top will be lit.
  • Along with that the screen on the front of the device should be on.
  • The screen will display the channel, battery level, and audio level. Note: The audio guage will get higher when picking up sound.
  • If you need to change the channel on the device, select the middle button and scroll to a different channel.
  • If you need to toggle the microphone on and off quickly, hold down the power button. The screen will tell you if the microphone is on or off.
