Accessing Microsoft 365 at Idaho State University

 Warning: This Feature will go live for all Students, Faculty, & Staff on June 5th, 2026. If you sign up through Free Microsoft 365 Online before June 5th, please use your ISU username@isu.edu and expect your password to be synced on June 5th, 2026

Microsoft 365 resources will become unavailable to Alumni, Retirees, and those without current affiliation on June 5th, 2026. Sign up for a Free Microsoft 365 Online using a personal email address.

Description

This article provides instructions on how to Access Microsoft 365 at Idaho State University (ISU).

Important Account Information

  • You must sign up using your primary ISU email address.
  • Your agreement is with Microsoft, not ISU.
  • The license may be changed or revoked by Microsoft or ISU

Guide Navigation

Logging Into Microsoft 365

  1. Visit office.com
  2. Sign in using your ISU Email

Note: Make sure you use your login email. Not your Alias. If you previously had an account under your alias, this account will be separate and maintain its own legacy credentials.

  1. Select Next
  2. Enter the same password as you use to login to MyISU
  3. Select Next
  4. You will see a screen asking you to setup a new verification method
  5. Select Next
  6. Set up a Sign-in Method
  7. Select Next
  8. Select Approve with Cisco Duo
  9. If you use DUO Desktop you will also need to allow for Duo to Access other apps and services on this device. (Employees only)
  10. Send and approve your Duo push

Once complete MS Office should tell you that the sign-in method was added and you can now use Cisco Duo to sign into your account.

Office Availability on Campus Computers

Microsoft 365 is available on most ISU owned devices. Please contact the IT Service Desk if your device does not have it.

Microsoft Office is available in all ISU campus computer labs.
