ISU Zoom License Type Comparison

ISU has an educational Zoom account with a limited number of licensed and unlimited basic accounts. Below is a comparison of Basic User vs. Licensed User types.

All faculty and staff will receive an ISU Licensed Zoom account when signing in with SSO.
Students can use the sign-in methods below to create an ISU Zoom account automatically.
Non-employee/non-active students will be moved to the Zoom Unlicensed User type (this move happens once a year between summer and fall semesters). Note: These accounts can join meetings but cannot host meetings.

Activate your Zoom Account

ISU’s Zoom Sign-in Page

Go to ISU Web Conferencing Webpage
Click Sign in
Type your ISU username and password
Click Sign in

Zoom’s Sign-in Page

Go to zoom.us
Select SSO
Type ISU in the company domain field
Click Continue
Type your ISU username and password
Click Sign in

Note: Users with an active Employee attribute (Full-time Faculty and Staff) are automatically provisioned with an ISU Zoom License when they sign into Zoom via SSO. Please review the other sections for Adjunct Faculty and Students needing an ISU Zoom License.

Get a temporary ISU Zoom License for Adjunct Faculty

An adjunct faculty member requiring a Temporary ISU Zoom License for academic use can enable an ISU Zoom License by using Zoom in their Canvas course.

In Canvas' course menu, select Zoom
Zoom will automatically provision a Zoom Meeting license to your ISU Zoom Account
The Zoom license is valid for one year; licenses are reset in August between the end of the Summer semester and the start of the Fall semester

Note: To re-enable a Zoom license, launch the Zoom activity in your Canvas Course.

Get a Temporary ISU Zoom License for Student Academic Use

Students requiring a Temporary ISU Zoom License for academic use can self-enroll in the Moodle ISU course: Temporary ISU Zoom Licensed Account

The Zoom license is valid for one year; licenses are reset in August between the end of the Summer semester and the start of the Fall semester

Note: To re-enable a Zoom license, re-enroll in the course if needed.
