Description

This article details how to sync new passwords, add a Google account to a Samsung and Apple devices, or remove a Google account from a Samsung and Apple devices.

iPhone / iPad

Resync / Update Password For Your Google Account

To update your email password on an iPhone, you can do the following:

Tap Settings
Tap Passwords and Accounts
Tap Your E-Mail account name
Tap Account
Tap Password.
- Note: You can only change your ISU password through iam.isu.edu, instructions on how to do so are listed under Password Help and Reset

Configuring Gmail Application

On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail Application.
Select Menu
Select Settings at the bottom of the available options
Select Your Account (username@isu.edu)
Select Your info, privacy and security
Click Personal Info
Select the Password located under the profile
- Note: You can only change your ISU password through iam.isu.edu, instructions on how to do so are listed under Password Help and Reset
Type New Password
Select Change Password
- Note: ISU passwords cannot be updated in this way. To update your password for you ISU email and ISU accounts, instructions are listed at Password Help and Reset

Adding Your Google Account on the Apple Mail Application

To add a Google Account from an iPhone, you can do the following:

Tap Settings
Tap the Mail . You might need to scroll down.
Tap Add Account.
- If you’ve already linked other accounts to your phone, tap Accounts. Then, tap Add Account.
Tap Google.
Enter your Google Account email. Then, tap Next.
Enter your password. Then, tap Next.
- You can choose to allow your Google Account to sync your data with your iPhone’s Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Notes apps.
- You can update these settings at any time.

Resync Gmail For Apple Account

Note: For a new account setup, skip steps 4, 5 and 6.

Open settings
Select Mail
Select Accounts
Select ISU account
Select Delete Account
- Note: You are NOT deleting your account; you are only removing it from your device.
Return to the previous page to add the account
Select Add account
Select Google
Select Continue on the popup
Login using your ISU email and password
Verify that the app works as intended

Removing Your Google Account

To remove a Google Account from an iPhone, you can do the following:
Tap Settings
Tap Accounts
Tap Remove for all the logins you want to remove.

Galaxy Devices / Android OS

Adding Your Google Account on the Android Gmail Application

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app .
In the top right, tap your profile picture.
Tap Add another account.
Choose the type of account you want to add.
- For Gmail, tap Google.
- To use iCloud Mail, @me.com, or @mac.com accounts, tap iCloud.
- If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
- If you don't find your email provider, select Other.
To add your account, follow the steps on the screen.

Adding Your Google Account As A Device Account

Open your device's Settings app.
Tap Passwords & accounts. If you can't find "Accounts," tap Users & accounts.
Under "Accounts," tap Add account.
Tap the type of account you want to add.
- To add your Google Account, tap Google. When you sign in with a Google Account, the email, contacts, calendar events, and other data associated with that account automatically sync with your device.
- To add your Google Meet account, tap Meet. When you sign in with your Meet account, you can make and receive video calls, create meetings, and call devices linked to your Home.
- To add a different personal account, tap Exchange, Personal (IMAP), or Personal (POP3). You'd generally choose these if you use an email program like Microsoft Outlook or Apple Mail. Learn how to use IMAP or POP3 with Gmail.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
If you're adding accounts, you may need to enter your device's pattern, PIN, or password for security.

Resync Your Google Account

Open your device's Settings app.
Tap Passwords & accounts.
- If you can't find Accounts tap Users & accounts.
Under Accounts tap the account you want to remove
- Note: You're not actually removing your account, you'll be re-adding it back in later.
Tap Remove account.
To confirm, tap Remove account again.
If this is the only Google Account on the device, you'll need to enter your device's pattern, PIN, or password for security.
Go back to the main page of your device's Settings app.
Tap Passwords & accounts. If you can't find "Accounts," tap Users & accounts.
Under "Accounts," tap Add account.
Tap the type of account you want to add.
- To add your Google Account, tap Google. When you sign in with a Google Account, the email, contacts, calendar events, and other data associated with that account automatically sync with your device.
