General Box Information

Information about Box. 

ISU Box is our data storage solution for ISU employees. Box gives users unlimited cloud-based storage, allowing them to share the data or keep it private. Furthermore, users can access this data from any smart device and location.  Data stored in Box is backed up, protected, and safe.

Accessible from the ISU-Share Folder in BOX, these short videos cover all the basics of Box and its applications.  

Box Edit is an app we recommend everyone set up on their computer or device. It enables you to edit files from Box easily using programs on your computer, such as Word or Excel. When you finish editing, it saves those files directly back into Box. To download this app, follow the instructions in this handout or call our Service Desk (282-HELP) for help.

Box for Office is an app we recommend everyone set up on their computer or device. It adds a Box Save option to any document you create in Microsoft Office products. When you create a new Word document, for example, and go to save that document, Box appears as one of the Save options.  To set up this app on your machine or device, follow the instructions in this handout or call our Service Desk (282-HELP) for help.

Box allows you to share folders and documents with a wide variety of access levels, from a Co-Owner who can see and do everything you can see and do to a Viewer who can only look at the document.  To better understand the various access levels, click the Box Access pdf link.
