Overview: HTML Editor in Moodle ISU

Description

The HTML editor in Moodle ISU appears on any page where text can be entered. You can use the editor to manipulate text, insert images, create links, etc.

This Guide Will Help You to:

Identify Icons in the Moodle ISU Editor 

Icons on the toolbar may be used to assist you with formatting, inserting, linking, etc in Moodle.

The First Row of the HTML Editor

Note: You may need to highlight the desired word or words before clicking the button in the html editor.

""

Show more/fewer buttons - This button will let you minimize and maximize the number of rows of the editor.

""

Paragraph styles - This button will let you choose different paragraph styles.

""

Bold - Click this button to bold any sentence or word.

""

Italic - Click this button to italicize any sentence or word.

""

More font colors - Highlight text and click this button to determine the text color.

""

Unordered list - Click this button to create your sentences into an unordered list.

""

Ordered list - Click this button to create your sentences into an ordered list.

""

Link - Click this button to link to an external website.

""

Unlink - Click this button to unlink any linked website.

""

Prevent auto-link - Click this button to prevent a link from being automatically created when the title of an activity or resource is typed in the course.

Emoji picker - Click this button to select an emoji.

Image - Click this button to upload an image.

Media - Click this button to upload an audio/video file.

Record audio - Click this button to record audio.

Record loom - Click this button to a loom screen capture.

Manage files - Click this button to manage files.

H5P - Click this button to create H5P content.

Accessibility checker - Click this button to use the accessibility checker.

Screenreader helper - Click this button to get information about the selected text.

Underline - Click this button to underline any sentence or word.

Strike through - Click this button to strike through any sentence or word.

""

Subscript - Click this button to subscript any sentence or word.

""

Superscript - Click this button to superscript any sentence or word.

""

Left align - Click this button to align the text or image with the left-hand margin.

""

Center - Click this button to center the text or image on the page.

""

Right align - Click this button to align the text or image with the right-hand margin.

""

Outdent - Click this button to outdent a word or sentence.

""

Indent - Click this button to indent a word or sentence.

""

Equation editor - By using this function you can edit an equation. You can select the desired equation and add it to the text.

Chemistry editor - Click this button to edit chemistry equations. 

""

Insert character - Click this button to insert a symbol or character.

""

Table - By using this function you can insert a table. You can insert a caption, define headers and also put in your desired number of rows and columns to create your table.

Clear formatting - Click this button to clear formatting for the selected text.

""

Undo - Click this button to undo the previous action.

""

Redo - Click this button to redo an action.

""

HTML - Click this button to edit the html formatting for the page.

 

Editing in HTML 

  1. Click the HTML icon to access the html formatting  and source code.

  2. You will see the code that comprises the webpage.  

  3. Edit or Add HTML code to the page.

To save:

  1. Click Save and display to save the page.

  2. Click Cancel to delete the changes made to the page.
