Adding a Zoom Meeting Link in ISU Canvas

Description

This article provides instructions on how to add a Zoom meeting link in ISU Canvas at Idaho State University (ISU). Faculty can schedule and start Zoom meetings to support distance learning, office hours, lecture capture, and access their cloud recordings by adding the Zoom External Tool to their Canvas ISU course.

Accessing the Zoom Link in Course Navigation

The Zoom conferencing link is automatically available to faculty and students in all ISU Canvas courses within the left-hand Course Navigation menu. 

Adding a Zoom Meeting Link to a Module

Add a Zoom meeting link within a specific module: 
  1. Sign in to ISU Canvas, and locate the desired course.
  2. Locate the module in which you wish to add the new meeting.
  3. Select + at the top of the module to add and activity.
  4. In the Add dropdown, select External Tool.
  5. Select Zoom.
  6. In Page Name, name the activity.
  7. Select Add Item
Schedule the Meeting
  1. In the course, select the Zoom activity just added to the course
  2. Schedule your meetings (external link).
  3. Return to your course.
