GlobalProtect VPN Installation and Use for Windows

This article provides instructions on how to install, configure, connect to and disconnect from the GlobalProtect VPN on Windows devices at Idaho State University (ISU).

• Check your Windows Version (32-bit or 64-bit)
• Install GlobalProtect VPN
• Connect to the VPN
• Disconnect from the VPN

1. Open Settings.
2. Click System.
3. Click About.
4. Under Device Specifications, locate System type.
   • Note: This will display either 64-bit operating system or 32-bit operating system. 

1. Go to the  Paloalto GlobalProtect portal.
2. Sign in with your ISU Username and Password.
3. Complete Duo authentication when prompted. 
4. Select the download that matches your system type:
   • Windows 64-bit GlobalProtect agent or
   • Windows 32-bit GlobalProtect agent
5. Open the downloaded file from your Downloads folder.
6. Follow the installation prompts:
   • Select Next on each step. 
   • Select Yes when prompted by User Account Control
7. When the installation is complete, select Close.

1. Select Show hidden icons in the Windows taskbar.
2. Select GlobalProtect.
3. In the portal field, enter:
   • bengalgateway.isu.edu
4. Select Connect.
5. Sign in with your ISU Username and Password.
6. Complete Duo authentication when prompted. 
7. Select Connect to complete sign-in

1. Select Show hidden icons.​​​​​​ in the Windows taskbar.
2. Select GlobalProtect.
3. Select Disconnect.
