Panopto integrates seamlessly with Canvas, making it easy to share lecture recordings and other video content in your course. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for embedding videos in pages, adding them to modules, or sharing direct links to ensure students have seamless access.
Instructions
There are three options for linking Panopto videos into your course.
Option 1: Embed a Panopto Video in a Canvas Page
- Navigate to your course in Canvas.
- Go to Modules or Pages and select Edit or Add a Page where you want the video to appear.
- In the Rich Content Editor, select the Panopto icon (a green circle with a white triangle) in the toolbar.
- A Panopto window will open—select an existing video or upload a new one.
- Select Insert to embed the video.
- Select Save or Save & Publish to finalize.
Option 2: Link a Panopto Video in a Canvas Module
- In Canvas, navigate to Modules.
- Select the + button next to the module where you want the video.
- From the dropdown menu, select External Tool and choose Panopto LTI.
- Find the video you want to link and select Insert.
- Select Add Item, then Publish the module item to make it available to students.
Option 3: Share a Direct Link
- In Panopto, find your video and select Share.
- Copy the Video Link and adjust permissions if needed.
- Paste the link in a Canvas Page, Announcement, Discussion, or Assignment for easy access.
