Request VPN Access

Description

Select the Request VPN Access button to access the form. Enter the required information and select Submit to complete your request.

Notes:

  • This form is for new VPN access requests only.
  • You must provide the IP address or Fully Qualified Domain Name Eg. (example.test.isu.edu) to your destination service, The IP of your device is not needed unless specifically requested.
  • VPN access is primarily available to faculty and staff. Students may receive temporary access when required, but requests are typically submitted by a faculty or staff sponsor. 

Details

Request Virtual Private Network (VPN) access to securely connect to the Idaho State University (ISU) network from off campus. VPN access allows authorized users to access university systems and resources as if they were on campus.
 

Examples of Appropriate Use

  • A faculty member requests VPN access for students who need remote access to ISU resources for research or coursework.
  • A staff member working remotely needs VPN access to use ISU systems.
  • A faculty or staff member traveling for a conference needs access to ISU resources while off campus.

Inappropriate Use

VPN access is not intended for:
  • Anonymous browsing or masking internet activity
  • Accessing or downloading illegal content or materials

All VPN traffic is routed through ISU systems and may be monitored in accordance with university policy.
