Description
These classrooms (listed as tags below the title of this article) support in-person, hybrid, and fully-remote teaching. Multiple content sources route through an Extron control system and then through a Poly Zoom Room system to the displays and speakers. Built-in cameras and microphones, as well as TV displays and an extra monitor on the podium for viewing remote participants, are directly connected to the Zoom Room system.
You will use two touch panels in this room.
- The Extron Touch Panel: powers on/off the projector and TV displays, selects which content source is active, and controls the volume of the selected source.
- The Zoom Controller (Poly): controls the master volume, microphones, camera, content sharing, and other Zoom meeting controls.
What This Room Can Do
- Share content locally and to Zoom from:
- The Dedicated Instructor PC,
- A Laptop or device you bring (BYOD) via the HDMI cable,
- The wall-mounted SMART MX Board,
- The Document Camera (via the Instructor PC),
- Or, any wireless device with the Zoom Client app or web browsing capabilities.
- Play audio through room speakers.
- Share audio and video with Zoom participants.
- Show Zoom participants on the TVs and secondary podium monitor.
Important Things to Know First
- Zoom Meetings should be created by the instructor and submitted to CAL IT via the Zoom Rooms Calendar Entry Request form.
- All content routes through the Zoom Room system and then to the room's displays and speakers.
- The Extron touch panel only selects the input source fed into the Zoom Room system.
- To display or share any content source, you must tap Share on the Zoom Controller.
- This is required even if you are not using Zoom.
- The room's cameras and microphones are a part of and connected only to the Zoom Room system (device mode on the Zoom Room is not supported at this time).
