New Employee Tech Tools

Welcome to Idaho State University!

The Information Technology Services (ITS) team is here to help you start on the right foot. We understand that starting a new job can be overwhelming, so we have put together a set of technology resources to help you get started efficiently and positively impact your team from day one.

As a new employee at Idaho State University, there are several essential steps that you need to complete to use the technology on campus successfully and to ensure the security of your identity and university data. This toolkit provides detailed instructions on how to claim your account, create specific security features, such as self-service password questions, and set up multi-factor authentication with Duo. During this process, you will receive a security code via text to verify your mobile number. Therefore, please ensure that you have your mobile phone nearby.

Preparing your account before your first day at Idaho State University is a constructive step towards maximizing your university experience and safeguarding your personal information. This gives you uninterrupted access to the university's data and takes full advantage of our campus technology.
    • Your Idaho State University account is essential for accessing campus computers and computing services.
    • Idaho State University employees are required to enroll in Duo Multi-Factor Authentication. This ensures digital identity protection with layers of security. The first layer is your ISU username and password; the second includes the enrolled device. Additional identity verification is required to log into specific services like MyISU and Moodle.
    • As an Idaho State University employee, it is essential to note that your University email address is the official form of communication. You will receive announcements from the University and your department through this email address.
      • Notes:
        • Unless you are an alumni or retiree, your university email account will be deactivated when you leave ISU.
        • Personal files, such as photos and documents, should not be stored on ISU resources, including workstations, Google Drive, and Box. Any files stored on resources are considered the property of ISU.
